In 2001 I moved up to Maine from Massachusetts. After almost 2 years of searching, I bought a wonderful home on the shores of Thompson Lake. It was the best real estate decision I ever made.

I must tell you that the searching was tough and frustrating at times. Often when I  finally found a good home on a good lake at a good price, when I called it was under contract already. This happened even when I called the same day that the property became listed on the big web site that we were using. When I finally found my lake front home, I put in an offer that was accepted just 6 days after the home was listed for sale.

That is the way it can work up here. A properly marketed lake front home at a good price will be gone quickly. I learned a lot being a customers seeking a lake front home. That knowledge is helping me now that I am a Realtor.
